How to Achieve Net-Zero as an Online Catering Marketplace

Inspired by the UK's goal of becoming the first major economy to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, we are building a more sustainable food system at Hey! Food is Ready.

We work closely with our chefs to implement practices that benefit both the environment and our communities.

🧑‍🍳Sustainable practices by our chefs:

1️⃣ We encourage our chefs to utilise sustainable practices that minimise food waste. This includes using reusable or compostable packaging, creatively utilising leftovers and partnering with platforms like Too Good To Go to avoid food waste.

2️⃣ We advocate for responsible sourcing practices by encouraging chefs to focus on local and seasonal ingredients, minimising transport emissions and supporting local farms.

3️⃣ We promote the use of energy-saving practices in the kitchen among chefs, such as employing air fryers as a substitute for frying, to reduce dependence on palm oil.

💼 From the client's perspective

1️⃣ We encourage the use of their own plates and cutlery during events, further minimising waste generation.

By working together, we can create a more sustainable food system that benefits both the environment and the communities we serve.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
